Paolo Lombardi is head of New Business Creation at Trento Rise (www.trentorise.eu), the Italian research-education core partner of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) ICT Labs (www.eitictlabs.eu). He is co-founder and micro-angel investor in two companies in human language technologies and mobile gaming. He has been Business Developer for the EIT ICT Labs. Currently he is managing director of TechPeaks, the People Accelerator, the new public and international accelerator program for ICT start-ups based in Trento, Italy (techpeaks.eu). Since 2013 TechPeaks has brought entrepreneurs from over 20 countries to Italy to start high-growth technology companies. Paolo holds a PhD in Artificial Intelligence from the University of Paris XI and Pavia, an MEng in Electronics by the University of Pavia, and has studied Technology Entrepreneurship at Santa Clara University as Fulbright fellow with the BEST Program. He has co-authored over 30 scientific papers and book chapters, and worked in a number of spin-off and technology transfer projects. He has been an invited speaker at entrepreneurship conferences in Europe and Asia. Paolo is passionate about helping talented people maximize their positive impact for social good.
